Nothing like testing right? I need an alternative to the JAWS Screen Reader. Suggestions?

I may have to bite the bullet and buy the REALLY ($1000 +) expensive
screen reader. But does anyone have any alternatives that they can
recommend? Free or otherwise?

  1. Why not just download the trial version of JAWS, which runs in 40 minutes mode. The trial is not limited to 30 days, but will only function for 40 minutes from initial launch of application since last restart. After 40 minutes, just restart the PC and you will have another 40 minutes.

I don’t know why you would really want to test witha anything other than JAWS, as it is the global leader in ScreenReaders, and to a very large extend lead where the others follow.

  2. That’s good to know. Do you have any evidence that JAWS is the global leader? I’d be really interested in anything you’ve got.
